UNUSUAL ACCIDENT - MULTIPLE SURGERIES
In Feb. 1991 I met with a freak accident which left me with a damaged TMJ, several cracked teeth, several damaged vertebrae in my cervical area, injury to my lower back and left knee. I underwent 4 lots of surgery between 1991 and 1993. The fifth was to be a major neuro surgery where a number of vertebrae would have to be fused. I declined the surgery. I was on a number of painkiller drugs which caused stomach ulcers and a bad reflux. I contracted bronchitis which led to pneumonia and acute asthma. I was on a number of medications and inhalers for 5 years. I was told that my lungs were damaged permanently and I would have to remain on inhalers for the rest of my life. I slept for almost 8 years propped up by 9 pillows. I did take mega doses of various nutritional supplements from different companies and while they did help they did not resolve my problems. In February of 2002, I was told about TF by a close friend. I started taking 6 capsules of TF, 4 caps of TF+, 6 capsules of Fibro AMJ Daytime and 2 packets of Rite Start (Men) per day. In 18 days my lung problem had virtually disappeared and in one month I was able to totally dispense with having to depend on my inhalers. In a little over 3 months I found the pain in my cervical area beginning to ease considerably and I had increased flexibility in movement. In 8 months I was pain free. HOLE IN FACE
I have some major health concerns and I wondered how I would know when and actually if transfer factors were kicking in. It didn't take long. The day my first order from this company came, I had a "shoot me" of a cold blossoming. The thing is my colds always turn in to bronchitis. I was really prepared for the initial feat. I started the transfer factors and three days later, every cough and sniffle was absolutely gone and I was totally amazed. The other thing that happened was, I had a hole in my face, and now, I know this sounds strange, but it's the best way I can describe what a cosmetologist did to my cheek, 23 years ago. My son was perfectly normal at birth. He loved music. He would sing and dance. Some of the best video footage we have of him is right before he got his 18-month inoculations. We are in a band and we would let him come up and sing the last song with us. That night he was just perfect as always.
The next day we took him to get his shot and he started screaming and convulsing and ran a fever for three months. His temp averaged 104.The Tylenol keep it down to around 101 degrees. Once they told us they had no antibiotics left, they had to fly in some experimental high-level antibiotics. Now we were faced with what do we do now!! What if the next antibiotics don't work either? They told us not to think about it.
I started researching on the immune system, the only thing that might build up his immune system. Breast milk was the only thing we found his body would tolerate. I got donations from mothers at the hospital and we noticed as he was using this breast milk, the autism started going away. We were amazed! He stopped hurting himself and began making eye contact. He started hugging us and all of the doctors were amazed, too. So now we knew we had to supply this boy with three servings of breast milk a day, 8oz. each.
The hospital decided this was a risk and stopped the program. Then he began hurting himself again and I would get breast milk whenever I could. My son is no longer considered autistic. We can tell when he does not get his transfer factor. We also took him off cow's milk and added antioxidants to his diet.

A friend of mine told me that I should have my son on transfer factors. He has AIDS, so we got him on it. An early success with Immune Boosting naturally in a young man with HIV. Kenny is a 20 year old with Hemophilia who contracted HIV many years ago from "dirty" clotting factors used to treat his Hemophilia. Kenny has been on many regimens for his HIV, including most recently (within the past year), an experimental regimen with no positive response. If anything, he suffered from many of the side effects of retroviral therapy. Five months ago, Kenny started a high dose regimen of TF (3 caps 3 times daily) and TF+ (2 caps 3 times daily), concurrent with his experimental therapy. I have been having pain caused by arthritis. It was gradually getting worse. Last Friday the pain was so bad that I could not fold the Sunday church bulletins. We left for North Carolina later that afternoon to visit out son and grandson. We drove straight through. I decided to double up on the Transfer Factor. Instead of taking 3 tablets a day, I started taking 6 tablets a day. I am writing this testimony on Tuesday evening (4 days after doubling up on Transfer Factor). The pain is almost completely gone. I am able to type this on my computer without any difficulty. Also, something else I discovered while we were at our son's house, I only sneezed 2 times in the 3 days we were there. Our son has 2 house cats. I am allergic to cats. JUVENILE RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
Jessica, a beautiful 8-year-old girl, diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis when she was 4 years old. Jessica presented to our office in 1996 with bone pain and multiple swollen painful joints, particularly her ankles. She was sent to a Rheumatology expert because of a high suspicion of JRA. The diagnosis was confirmed and she was started on a complex therapy of multiple medications, including Naproxyn, Indocin, and Methotrexate. She had a marginal response to initial therapy with some improvement in function, but she could still not "be a normal child", active in sports and dance without daily pain and discomfort. I went without TF for 5 days last week and my Osteoarthritis came back with vengeance. My toes were so curled over, nodules returned below joints and walking was agony. My daughter suffered from serious sinus problems and asthma. My son Joshua suffers from asthma and sinusitis. He has been on Ventolin and Flexotide and has had many sleepless nights with coughing and wheezing. Recently I have had two bouts with cold sores that I have been afflicted with all of my life. My name is Michael, I'm 22 years old, and I'm from Enfield, Connecticut (USA). I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease on May 1st of 2000. I had been to numerous doctors throughout my life, with complaints of horrendous symptoms: only to be told it was all in my head. It usually felt as if I was being stabbed constantly around the lower right section of my abdomen. I had seen 16 doctors in total; ranging from General Practitioners, GI specialists, and Endocrinologists. I believe I had the disease for well over 10 years (Since age 12 or earlier). In the 10 years I went searching for answers I was misdiagnosed with everything from Anorexia, Manic Depression, ADHD, Severe Depression, and just random social anxiety. This year I had actually begun losing a lot of weight. Every week that passed between Christmas 1999 - May of 2000- I noticed about 5-10lbs being lost. I was 205lbs in December and shrunk down to a meager 125lbs in 4 months. I remember waking up one afternoon to go to work, and seeing myself in the mirror as I passed it to get in the shower. I realized that the person I saw in the mirror wasn't recognizable. It was at this point I became scared. I began researching online, calling doctors, and searching for answers. Eventually I was no longer capable of walking. I became so weak that I would go into shock If I even attempted to get out of bed. I decided that if the doctors wouldn't allow me to come to them, then I would force them to see me, by being carried into the ER. At the ER they ran general tests, (Blood pressure, checked eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and took a urine sample) and found, "get this!" *Nothing wrong*. I asked if an Upper GI could be done or perhaps some general blood testing for anemia, because it was suggested that Crohn's Disease may be the cause by a close friend. They "shrugged" and said they didn't have time, or someone available to run the tests. Can you imagine the nerve of someone telling me in the Emergency Room that they didn't have a person available to run an Upper GI or general blood test? I became infuriated, and more upset. As I was leaving the hospital via wheel chair I asked the nurse if she could get me a large trash bag. She then immediately asked; "why do you need such a large bag?" I then responded saying; "I have to have something large enough to carry all my symptoms, and suffering out through this door." She then gave me a disapproving look, and I got even more bitter. Eventually I was diagnosed correctly. Conventional medications (Prednisone, Methoxtrexate, Imuran, Asacol, and Remicade were all failures for me). They allowed me to survive, but the quality of my life was severely limited. I was still to weak to leave my house, and the side effects of these conventional treatments left my body withered, and fatigued. After 6 months of research, and scrutinizing through subject matter related to immunology, bio-chemistry, and differing theories on the causation of Crohn's Disease I was introduced to a product called Transfer Factor Plus by a women named Bonnie. I have been taking Prozac (now know as Fluoxatine) for about 5 years. I have taken myself off this once or twice over this time, but the symptoms have always returned. The real test will be when I have been off Fluoxatine for several months.

Diabetes affects thousands of individuals each year. There are many theories on the causes of this illness. In reality, there are probably several conditions that lead to diabetes. Most experts agree that a healthy diet and exercise are important factors in controlling diabetes. Can nutritional supplements help in our fight against diabetes? There are different opinions among experts on the effectiveness of nutrients in this arena. Under FDA guidelines, we cannot say that a nutrient prevents or cures any illness. There are hundreds of testimonies that indicate that certain nutrients, such as chromium picolinate, lipoic acid, omega-3 fatty acids, and Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), have a positive effect on symptoms involved with Type II diabetes.
There are two known types of diabetes, Type I and Type II. With Type I, the pancreas fails to produce the amount of insulin that is required to control serum levels of glucose. Generally, these individuals must take insulin intravenously. There are many theories on what causes Type I diabetes. Genetic factors, infectious agents that may cause an immune disorder, and an immune disorder that is precipitated by a mutant protein called GAD that is secreted by the same cells that secrete insulin, are possible causes.
One theory is that the immune system attempts to attack the cell that produces the mutated protein. It suppresses and eventually destroys this cell which also produces insulin. Another theory is that an infectious agent attacks the pancreas. The immune system attacks the infectious agent and subsequently suppresses or destroys the insulin-producing cells that are infected. Once the cells are actually dead, there is no way to revive them. If the immune system ceases the attack while the cells are only suppressed, the cells may begin to produce insulin again.
Scientists who believe that a dysfunctional immune system or an infectious agent is involved in some cases of diabetes are looking to immune modulators for help. One such immune system modulator has captured the attention of several health experts. Rob Robertson, M.D., a physician for 24 years, and Mark Blatstein, the director of the Philadelphia chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, are experts who feel that transfer factors can play an important role in addressing these factors. We have had astounding testimonies from customers and distributors on how transfer factors have affected their bodies in such a way as to relieve some of the symptoms of Type I diabetes. In theory, transfer factors have suppressor factors and bio-feedback mechanisms along with the “information molecules,” which could be modulating the immune system. A condition such as diabetes is very complex, and we would not encourage anyone to stop traditional treatment.
With Type II diabetes, the muscle cells become desensitized to insulin. The insulin is no longer able to move glucose from the blood into the cells. This is also referred to as “insulin-resistant or adult onset diabetes.” In a few cases, insulin receptor sites may be blocked and/or damaged from a virus. The effect of transfer factors on the immune system could help the symptoms in this situation. With either type of diabetes, the danger of infections in the outer extremities is a major concern. An alert and modulated immune system will be beneficial in controlling these infections. Transfer factors are 500% more effective in modulating the immune system than any other nutrient recorded in medical literature.
There is another condition, referred to as syndrome X (magnesium deficiency), where fluids are separated from white blood cells, producing Type II symptoms. In this case, Fibro AMJ™ (daytime formula) has a positive effect on restoring a magnesium balance.
Exercise, both aerobic and light weight lifting, have been found to assist in resensitizing the muscles to insulin, which is a key factor in Type II diabetes.

I have suffered from diabetes for 24 years. Recently i also had to endure skin disease, which continued even after my foot amputation. My husband Nelson was diagnosed with diabetes in January of this year. When Nelson went to the doctor his blood sugar count was 450 within 3 months we had it back down to 110. The doctor’s office even called our house in astonishment about how quickly things had gotten back to normal. I was admitted to Tenet Parkview Hospital on April 12, 2001, with a diagnosis of diabetic Charcot neuroarthropathy. Both of my ankles had undergone a crippling disease process. I had numerous bony deformities, and was given the option of amputation, but elected to have extensive reconstructive procedures performed on both of my ankles. Being an insulin-dependent diabetic for greater than 45 years, I was thought to be at risk for delayed healing and infection. I was taking enhanced transfer factors and had no previous problem with infection or poor wound healing. I required numerous fusions with internal fixation to stable my feet in neutral position. This was performed in order to allow me the ability to walk. At the time of my first post-operative cast change in 10 days, I showed no signs of wound infection or wound dehiscence. I exhibited mild swelling only. Serial radiographs were taken and revealed fusion of my ankle joints in just seven weeks. This is considered excellent for a "normal" patient, who is not diabetic! All of my fusion sites and incisions healed beautifully without any wound or bony complications. I was extremely surprised by my ability to heal. I believe that it was the enhanced transfer factors that gave my body the ability to heal in a "normal fashion." I was hospitalized until July 27, 2001, at which time I was discharged back to my home in California. I ambulated out of the hospital on my own power and my limbs were saved.

I have a liver disease that is Hepatitis C, chronic hepatitis now. What comes along with that is a lot of problems with your digestive system, fatigue, and a lot of bowel problems. I have been fighting this thing for about a year, taking different drugs for my stomach for the acid reflux, controlling diarrhea and things like that. It was really a losing battle. I saw the ads for the enhanced transfer factors, and said why not because I had tried a lot of vitamins and herbs and tried a lot of things, and said why not try this. I went ahead and got it and I was pretty sick when I got it too. I just kept taking it and kept taking it and I started feeling better. It came day by day and especially with the chronic fatigue. After being on this for almost three weeks it dropped it down from 300 to 194 and that is a big significant drop. It just got me all excited and everything and feeling so good I just cannot say enough good things about it. I made one mistake. In November 2002 I had a C-Reactive Protein test (CRP) done to measure the level of inflammation in my arterial walls after having read a number of articles indicating this type of inflammation as being the root cause of heart attacks. 120/80 is normal. I am not a doctor but I have many friends that have had high blood pressure. I searched our database for information on high blood pressure. The following are suggestions given. Keep in mind we are not saying that the following protocol cures high blood pressure. It is our unmedical opinion that the following protocol has help individuals with the effects of high blood pressure.
Here is what my research has found. As you know there are several causations for high blood pressure. There are several avenues through which to approach it.
Theanine- is an amino acid found in green tea. When it is consumed in concentration, it induces relaxation.
Policosanol- Reduces inflammation in the arterial walls. Inflammation of arterial walls can add to high blood pressure.
L-arginine
Hypertension: L-arginine is required for the body to synthesize nitric oxide, which enables the arterial system to retain its youthful elasticity, thus alleviating hypertension in some people. Nitric oxide also helps to produce endothelial relaxation factor, which is needed by the arterial system to expand and contract with each heartbeat. The inability of arteries to expand and contract is a major cause of hypertension associated with aging. If you decide to try L-arginine to lower blood pressure, ask your physician to reduce your antihypertensive medication while you are increasing your intake of arginine. The suggested dose of L-arginine as a blood pressure lowering agent is 4500 mg three times daily. For some people, L-arginine does not lower blood pressure, so it’s crucial that your blood pressure be monitored to ensure that it is under control. L-ornithine is not a suitable alternative for this purpose since quick synthesis of nitric oxide is required.

Also, studies indicate that fruit body of powder of Maitake helps regulated blood sugar, cholesterol, blood pressure and body weight.
CoQ10
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and garlic provide aid in the reduction of blood pressure. These supplements may also mitigate the underlying disease that may be the cause of hypertension.
In March 1999, the results of a randomized, double-blind trial among patients receiving antihypertensive medication was published. Patients known to have essential hypertension and presenting with coronary artery disease were given 60 mg of CoQ10 twice a day. The doctors conducting the study stated, "Findings indicate that treatment with Coenzyme Q10 decreases blood pressure, possibly by decreasing oxidative stress and insulin response in patients with known hypertension receiving conventional antihypertensive drugs (Journal of Human Hypertension, 1999 [March], 13 [3]:203-8)
Another study using higher doses of CoQ10 concluded: "Patients treated with an average of 200 mg/day of CoQ10 showed improvement in symptoms of fatigue and dyspnea with no side effects noted. Previous observations on the improvement in diastolic function and left ventricular wall thickness through the therapeutic administration of coenzyme Q10 in patients with hypertensive heart disease prompted the investigation (Molecular Aspects of Medicine, 1997, 18 Suppl:S145-51)
CoQ10 was tested in 109 cardiology patients presenting with hypertension for at least 1 year. An average dose of 225 mg/day orally of CoQ10 was administered along with antihypertensive medication. The aim was to attain blood levels greater than 2.0 mcg/mL (average 3.02 mcg/mL on CoQ10). Rather than being fixed, dosage was adjusted according to clinical response and blood CoQ10 levels. Researchers reported, "A definite and gradual improvement in functional status was observed with the concomitant need to gradually decrease antihypertensive drug therapy within the first one to six months." A remarkable 51% of patients were completely removed from between one and three antihypertensive medications an average of 4.4 months after starting CoQ10 administration. A highly significant improvement was seen in left ventricular wall thickness and diastolic function in those patients (9.4% of total) who were monitored by echocardiogram before and during treatment.
In a study conducted to clarify the mechanism of the antihypertensive effect of CoQ10, 26 patients with essential arterial hypertension were treated with oral CoQ10, 50 mg twice daily for 10 weeks. Plasma CoQ10, serum total and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, and blood pressure were determined in all patients before and at the end of the 10-week period. At the end of the treatment, systolic pressure decreased from 164.5 ± 3.1 to 146.7 ± 4.1 mmHg, and diastolic pressure decreased from 98.1 to 86.1 mmHg. Plasma CoQ10 values increased from 0.64 mcg/mL to 1.61 mcg/ mL. Serum total cholesterol decreased from 222.9 mg/dL to 213.3 mg/dL, and serum HDL cholesterol increased from 41.1 mg/dL to 43.1 mg/dL ± 1.5 mg/ dL.
Fish Oil
High doses of fish oil concentrate have lowered blood pressure in some people. There are cardiovascular as well as other health benefits associated with taking fish oil.
A study published in the October 1997 American Journal of Clinical Nutrition stated that "fish oils have been shown to lower blood pressure in hypertensive subjects." According to a January 1999 Journal of Nutrition study, the fatty acid DHA (docosahexaenoic acid, obtained directly from fish oil) was shown to alter the membrane fatty acid composition as well as the amount of ATP released from vascular endothelial cells, and also decrease plasma noradrenaline. The doctors who conducted this study stated that these factors may ameliorate the rise in blood pressure normally associated with advancing age. The Journal of Vascular Research (January 1998) corroborated these findings by showing that the EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) fatty acid fraction of fish oil, when administered to aged rats, increases the release of ATP from the vascular endothelial cells, leading to repression of the blood pressure rise seen with advancing age. The October 1997 American Journal of Clinical Nutrition stated that "fish oil has a mild blood pressure-lowering effect in both normal and mildly hypertensive individuals."
Fish oil has been shown to reduce high levels of triglycerides by an average of 35%; however, fish oil does not reduce cholesterol as originally thought. Fish oil supplements do lower triglycerides dramatically, however.If your gastrointestinal tract can tolerate high daily doses of fish oil, then you may lower your blood pressure and gain other benefits. One consideration is to start with a half dosage and then slowly increase to the dosage that will be recommended.
The Effects of Garlic on Hypertension
Several studies suggest that garlic may have protective effects against cardiovascular diseases. One cross-sectional observational study reported in Circulation, October 1997, tested the hypothesis that regular garlic intake would delay the stiffening of the aorta related to aging. Chronic garlic powder intake was shown to attenuate age-related increases in aortic stiffness. Arterial stiffening with age is one cause of hypertension. The doctors conducting this study stated, these data strongly support the hypothesis that garlic intake had a protective effect on the elastic properties of the aorta related to aging in humans.
As reported in the June 1998 Journal of Cardiovascular Pharmacology, garlic preparations have also been shown to have a beneficial effect on lipids, blood pressure, and platelet function. An April 1998 study (Prostaglandins Leukotrienes, and Essential Fatty Acids, Scotland) reported the effect of garlic on blood lipids, blood sugar, fibrinogen, and fibrinogenic activity of 30 patients who received 4 grams of garlic daily for 3 months. The patients were monitored at 1.5 and 3 months when it was determined that garlic had significantly reduced total serum cholesterol and triglycerides and increased the beneficial HDL cholesterol fraction. With regard to fibrinogenic activity, it was determined that the garlic inhibited platelet aggregation.
To analyze the effect of garlic on blood pressure, researchers in Australia reviewed published literature on randomized controlled trials of garlic preparations that were at least 8 weeks in duration. The researchers identified eight trials using Kwai, a dried garlic powder preparation involving 415 subjects. In seven trials that compared garlic to placebo, three showed a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure (SBP) and four showed a reduction in diastolic blood pressure (DBP). The overall pooled mean difference in the absolute change (from baseline to final measurement) of SBP was greater in subjects treated with garlic than in those treated with placebo. In DBP subjects, the corresponding reduction was slightly smaller. The researchers concluded that there may be some clinical use in patients with mild hypertension and recommended that more thorough and rigorously designed trials be conducted.
Another randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind trial was conducted on 47 nonhospitalized patients using Kwai garlic preparation. The patients who were admitted had diastolic blood pressures between 95 and 104 mmHg after a 2-week acclimatization phase. Blood pressure and plasma lipids were monitored during treatment after 4, 8, and 12 weeks. Researchers found significant differences between the placebo and Kwai groups. Systolic blood pressure fell from 102 to 91 mmHg after 8 weeks and again to 89 mmHg after 12 weeks in the drug group. Researchers also reported a significant reduction in serum cholesterol and triglycerides in the same group. No significant changes were noted in the placebo group.
Other researchers evaluated a garlic preparation containing 1.3% allicin (2400 mg) in nine patients with relatively severe hypertension (DBP 115 mmHg). At peak effect, about 5 hours after dosing, sitting blood pressure fell 7/16 (± 3/2 standard deviations) mmHg, with a significant decrease in diastolic blood pressure from 5 to 14 hours after dosing. Researchers concluded that the garlic preparation reduced blood pressure with no evident side effects.
Dosage Recommendations
Studies continue in this area, with investigations pointing strongly toward the benefits of garlic, fish oil, and CoQ10 aiding in the treatment of hypertensive disease. The amount of standardized garlic extract needed to lower blood pressure is 1500 to 6000 mg per day. The amount of coenzyme Q10 needed to lower blood pressure is 200 to 300 mg per day.
Potassium, Calcium, and Magnesium
Another report in the Annals of Medicine stated that "in certain patients potassium, calcium, and magnesium may be protective electrolytes against hypertension." The report went on to suggest that "with appropriate dietary modifications, it is possible to prevent the development of high blood pressure and to treat hypertensive patients with fewer drugs and with lower doses. In some patients antihypertensive medication may not be at all necessary."
Anyone with elevated blood pressure should be taking 500 to 1500 mg of elemental magnesium per day. About 80% of Americans are magnesium deficient, and low levels of magnesium are associated with hypertension and arterial disease. Even if magnesium fails to lower your blood pressure, it can reduce the risk of complications, such as stroke.
Benefits of vitamin C
In the early 1990s, several large population studies showed a reduction in cardiovascular disease in those who consumed vitamin C. The most significant report emanated from UCLA in 1992, where it was announced that men who took 800 mg a day of vitamin C lived 6 years longer than those who consumed the FDA's recommended daily allowance of 60 mg a day. The study, which evaluated 11,348 participants over a 10-year period of time, showed that high vitamin C intake extended average life span and reduced mortality from cardiovascular disease by 42%. This study was published in the journal Epidemiology (1992 3 [3]:194-202).
In 1998, several well-controlled studies showed that vitamin C enables the arterial system to expand and contract with youthful elasticity. Enhancing the elasticity of the arterial system is one method of reducing blood pressure. Cardiologists often prescribe nitroglycerin and longer-acting nitrate drugs to dilate the coronary arteries and relieve angina pain. Nitrate drugs not only improve coronary blood flow but also lower the oxygen demand of the heart by reducing peripheral vascular resistance. Unfortunately, nitrate drugs also produce negative effects. The main limiting factor to the nitrate drugs is tolerance: the vascular system stops responding to the dilating effects of the drugs, and angina is no longer controlled. Nitrate drugs may also cause a progressive weakening of the heart muscle cells' ability to produce energy. When vitamin C is administered to coronary artery disease patients, the vasodilating effects of the nitrate drugs may be significantly prolonged and the energy-producing capacity of the cells maintained.
A double-blind study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (1998, 31 [6]:1323-29) compared the effects of nitrate drugs in people receiving vitamin C to a placebo group not receiving vitamin C. The doctors administered nitrate drugs to healthy people and patients with coronary artery disease and then measured vasodilation response and cellular levels of cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate), an energy substrate that is depleted by nitrate drugs. At day zero, all participants were measured to establish a baseline. After 3 days of vitamin C administration (2 grams, 3 times daily), there was no change in either group. After 6 days of vitamin C therapy an impressive 42% improvement in vasodilation response was observed and a 60% improvement in cellular cGMP levels was measured in coronary artery disease patients receiving vitamin C compared to placebo. A similar improvement occurred in the healthy subjects taking vitamin C compared to the placebo group. The doctors concluded the study by stating, "These results indicate that combination therapy with vitamin C is potentially useful for preventing the development of nitrate tolerance."

My complaint was chronic haemorrhoids, which used to occur at least 5 times a week. This caused me to bleed everytime I went to the toilet. This conditiona caused me much suffering for 3 years. Because of a car accident in November of 1997, I was unable to return to my job as a school librarian until the beginning of the 98 term. Last Wednesday I started to get another ear infection in my left ear. I get these stupid things about 4 or 5 times a year and they usually send me to the nearest clinic or emergency room about midnight. It seems to always happen at night and/or on a weekend. I listened to the information a friend gave me about transfer factors because my seven year-old daughter has had numerous sinus and ear infections during her life usually using an antibiotic at least 4-5 times a year. The last time she was sick prior to starting the transfer factors it took two antibiotics to actually clear up her infection. My son Jasper, was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome (in laymen terms - kidneys not able to sieve protein molecules) when he was 11 months old. He is now 7 years old. His prognosis was not good; his health got worse from year to year. I almost lost him on September 11, 2001 after he went into shock and lost consciousness due to attacks form Chicken Pox and another stomach virus. I was advised by the doctors to improve his immune system, otherwise he will have a high chance of having kidneys failure in 2002. Originally Cynthia was taken to the emergency room in very serious condition and then she was placed in ICU, where she has remained since then. The head physician didn't see how she could live. The bacteria had ravaged her muscles, liver, pancreas, and kidneys. For at least ten days Cynthia has suffered from kidney failure gaining over 30 pounds since she could not eliminate liquid. They used furosemide to move some of the liquid through her, but the kidneys were not purifying. The kidney marker was up to 12+ and the physician didn't believe there was much chance that the kidneys would ever function again. I am very happy to report that we got word from the hospital today 13 days later that Cynthia is be released tomorrow from the hospital. I contracted systemic lupus at age 11 and have experienced many difficult periods over the past 13 years. I have irregular menstruation cycle and sometimes, when I have my period, it goes on for a month. This once happened for 8 consecutive months. Lately there has been renewed interest in using natural products for hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Recent studies suggest there may be an increased risk of breast, ovarian and uterine cancer in women who are taking traditional hormone replacement therapy. A Brief Description
A disorder of the brain characterized by shaking and difficulty with walking, movement, and coordination. The disease is associated with damage to a part of the brain that is involved with the execution of movement.
James Parkinson first described Parkinson’s disease in England in 1817. The disease affects approximately 2 out of 1,000 people, and most often develops after age 50. It does occasionally occur in younger adults and rarely in children. It affects both men and women and is one of the most common neurologic disorders of the elderly.
In some cases the disease occurs within families, especially when it affects young people. Most late onset cases are sporadic (no known cause). The term "parkinsonism" refers to any condition that involves a combination of the types of changes in movement seen in Parkinson’s disease, which happens to be the most common condition causing this group of symptoms. Parkinsonism may be caused by other disorders or by external factors (secondary parkinsonism).
Parkinson’s disease is caused by progressive deterioration of the nerve cells of the part of the brain that controls muscle movement (the basal ganglia and the extrapyramidal area). Dopamine, which is one of the substances used by cells to transmit impulses (transmitters), is normally produced in this area. Deterioration of this area of the brain reduces the amount of dopamine available to the body. Insufficient dopamine disturbs the balance between dopamine and other transmitters, such as acetylcholine. Without dopamine, the nerve cells cannot properly transmit messages, and this results in the loss of muscle function. The exact reason that the cells of the brain deteriorate is unknown. The disorder may affect one or both sides of the body, with varying degrees of loss of function.
In addition to the loss of muscle control, some people with Parkinson’s disease become severely depressed. Although early loss of mental capacities is uncommon, with severe Parkinson’s the person may exhibit overall mental deterioration (including dementia, hallucinations, and so on). Dementia can also be a side effect of some of the medications used to treat the disorder.
Parkinson’s disease is rare in children. When present, it appears to be due to decreased sensitivity of the nerves (post-synaptic) to dopamine rather than deterioration of the area of the brain that produces dopamine.

Secondary Parkinsonism is a disorder similar to Parkinson’s disease, but is caused by the effects of a medication, a neurodegenerative disorder, or another illness.
Parkinson’s disease is one of the most common neurologic disorders of the elderly. The term "parkinsonism" refers to any condition that causes any combination of the types of movement abnormalities seen in Parkinson’s disease.
Secondary Parkinsonism may be caused by disorders such as a stroke, encephalitis, or meningitis. Other neurodegenerative disorders such as progressive supranuclear palsy, corticobasal degeneration, and multiple systems atrophy.
Parkinson’s Disease is named after James Parkinson, an English Physician who first described the disease in 1817.

Hi MW, My heart goes out to you and your dad. There is no scientific evidence that TF or TF+ can help Parkinson’s Disease. We have had a couple testimonies that felt that after they began using TF that the symptoms were improved. If I were going to use one or the other I would use TF 9 capsules per day. TF will modulate the immune system. We have seen wonders on what a healthy and modulated immune system can do. I would also encourage him to consume cellular energy producing agents such as CoQ10, acetyl-carnitine and phosphatidylserine. I would also consume antioxidants such as grape seed and lipoic acid. A strong cell may resist cell death. Most illnesses product free radicals as a secondary problem. There are a couple new ideas on Parkinson but I can't find them tonight. Jon has had Parkinson's Disease for the last 10 years. I listened to the information a friend gave me about transfer factors because my seven year-old daughter has had numerous sinus and ear infections during her life usually using an antibiotic at least 4-5 times a year. The last time she was sick prior to starting the transfer factors it took two antibiotics to actually clear up her infection. I decided to buy a bottle and just keep it on hand, but hadn't given it to her yet. About 3-4 days after I got the bottle she woke up from a nap with a high fever, 103°, and her ear was hurting. I have been going to a highly respected dermatologist regarding a rash for the past three years. For years I've had trouble with my hands. They split open and they bleed. They itch, and they crack. They can become very painful. I'm almost embarrassed to say I was so skeptical it took me three months to listen to what transfer factors would do for me. I was diagnosed with a level 3 Melanoma 13th June 2001 after my GP removed a mole from my back Friday 8th June 2001. I proceeded to take 8 TF Plus a day. Since I was young, I frequently suffered from inflammation of the tonsils, mouth and throat ulcer. I have hyperthyroid for the past 11 years. Because of this, I developed asthma and my heart also have problem (heart beat extremely fast until my blouse can feel the heart beat). HYPERTHYROIDISM
Hyperthyroidism is an overfunctioning of the thyroid gland. This overfunctioning results in the production of too much thyroid hormone. Because the thyroid hormone controls many bodily functions, this increase in the thyroid hormone level causes these bodily functions, such as heart rate, or in some cases blood pressure, to increase, sometimes to very dangerous levels.
Hyperthyroidism can be caused by Graves' disease, which is an autoimmune disease and Graves' Disease is the most common type of hyperthyroidism.
Auto-immune means that the disease is caused by a malfunctioning of the immune system of the body - the very system which also protects us from such unpleasant things as bacteria and cancer cells. The immune system works by producing antibodies (such as lymphocytes) which attack and destroy many bad elements in the body, such as virus, bacteria, etc.. The problem is that sometimes this good defense system gets confused and starts attacking good cells.
In Grave's Disease, antibodies are produced that attack some of the proteins on the surface of thyroid cells. In response, the thyroid cells produce too much thyroid hormone, which, in turn, over-stimulate the thyroid.
If this person has Graves Disease, he should be consuming Tri-factors or Advanced. He would have to consume six to eight capsules for awhile to help balance the immune system.

HYPOTHYROIDISM (HASHIMOTO'S THYROIDITIS)
I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism for 4 years, to the extent that my Thryoid activity was nonexistent. During this time, I've been on different dosages of Synthroid medication & Cytomel with little to no effect. Within a week and a half of starting on transfer factors, I had blood work done. The blood work showed a positive result in my Thyroid activity. After continuing on the transfer factors for another month, to my surprise (and my doctor's) the results of my last blood work came back totally normal! I think that TF alone might very well be helpful for your wife. There is a chance that she has Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease affecting the thyroid gland. TF starting at 1-2 caps daily and slowly building up to 6 caps daily over several weeks might be helpful in re-educating the immune response. It is certainly worth a try. HYPOTHYROIDISM (HASHIMOTO'S THYROIDITIS)
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's when I was pregnant with my daughter; had gestational diabetes as well. I refused Synthroid supplements and my internist was just monitoring me regularly. Each case is different, however. My daughter is 12 now, has an IQ in the top 3% and is in special class for talented and gifted education. TSH, which is thyroid stimulating hormone secreted by the pituitary gland in response to insufficient free circulating thyroid hormone, needs monitoring through blood tests. I started following Dr. M's recommendation and as a result two times in a row, at 3-month recall, my synthroid supplement was lowered. I started TF 1x3/day first week, then 2x3/day. It is, after all, as Maria mentioned in her post, an autoimmune condition and TF addresses autoimmunity by modulation. If I was in your situation, however, I would make sure I get my antibodies checked to make sure it is Hashimoto's, as well as TSH and T4, usually endocrinologists or internal medicine specialists are recommended for anything regarding endocrine glands.

The transplantation of the thyroid tissue is one of the perspective methods for rehabilitation of thyroid gland functional disorders that appear due to the influence of insufficient environmental conditions on organism. By means of micromethod of lymphocyte blast transformation reaction on the base of [3H]-thymidine shift the functional activity of the Wistar rat's splenocytes was studied in case of radiation induced hypothyroidism with or without xenotransplantation of newborn pig thyroid gland organ culture. It was found that the level of thyroxine and triiodothyronine significantly decreased in serum of irradiated animals, the lymphocyte proliferation level was also reduced (by means of radioiodine introduction in dose of 8,325 MBk/mmole). Application of thyroid gland tissue xenotransplantate in this model of hypothyroidism helped to achieve the increasing of thyroid hormones levels in serum and rehabilitation of lymphocytes functional activity. The opportunities for correction of immunological disorders with the help of transfer factor of immune reactivity preparates were investigated. Transfer factor--is a low-molecular weight leukocyte extract (J 10 kD) with immunomodulating activities. This preparates activated the proliferation of splenocytes from animals with hypothyroidism and animals with hypothyroidism after xenotransplantation.
